I will be working on writing narrative which is going to be on Emotional scene but before you read that, I would like to give you a little about my writing skills before I got into the English Composition 100 class. Writing has never been something that fascinates me to do when I was growing up or before now, especially when it has to do with writing narrative. When the Television and Radio station offered me to be a presenter I was still not writing because we had professional writers and news editors that do all the writing. I started writing when I became a producer and later an international correspondent because it was mandatory for me to write as I had to send stories down to my station for news or documentary purpose from my location.
As time went on, I developed a style of writing my stories which of course were still edited and developed to meet the professional standard. I never imagined that I would now be introduced and taught how to write narrative. Today I am grateful to my lecturer – Sabatino Mangini for giving me the opportunity to develop myself in narrative.
So far, in my English Composition 100 class, I have being able to do a number of different works with Blog Post #1: The Proust Questionnaire on identity. This was very challenging but interesting. Blog Post #2: Writing Process Roundtable which is on writing process, it gave me an insight on the step by step process of writing, irrespective of the area of writing one intend to go into. My work on writing process was something I never imagined I could achieve despite the fact that I did not get to the expected level but I now have the confidence on how to start writing.
Blog Post #3: Composing an Emotional Scene was a writing narrative and the last Blog Post #4: Composing an Emotional Scene with Dialogue and Symbolism. Writing narrative especially emotional scenes got me into narrating stories with dialogue which I never knew I could attempt. Writing a narrative scene with me being the center of attraction was just so very emotional, and with everything coming out naturally took me back to the situations. Now I know how powerful writing is especially when it has to be a memoir and I will never forget what this class has taught me.
